Orthodontics for Children

Benefits of early orthodontic treament

The Australian Society of Orthodontics recommends that children should visit an orthodontist between the ages 6-8. Northside Orthodontics offers specialist early assessments that may elminate the need for orthodontic treatment later in your childs life. If we are able to address and monitor any potential orthodontic issues by assessing the child at a young age then we could isolate the problem to phase one and adjust or correct the issue as the child grows.

Early treatment could save you time and money. If we're able to address and solve an orthodontic issue early, not only may it help your child but it could also save you time and money in the future.

There are ways that you can spot any potential orthodontic issues early. If your child has crowded or misaligned teeth, speech problems or suck their thumb past the age of five, these might provide an indication that your child requires orthodontic treatent.

Any questions or concerns relating to early treatment? It's often difficult to make the decision to visit an orthodontist with such a young child.
