THE INVISIBLE ORTHODONTIST
Purpose
This group of specialist orthodontists was formed with the specific goal of providing invisible orthodontic treatment to as many patients as possible. The dental profession has various types of specialists, including orthodontists, and while any dentist is permitted to treat orthodontic cases, qualified orthodontists are required to complete an additional 2 to 3 years of full-time study in order to be registered.
Experience
The experience of an orthodontist has a significant impact on the success of treatment and the types of cases that can be treated. The Invisible Orthodontist group has over 250 years of combined orthodontic experience and has treated in excess of 1,300 Invisalign cases. Many patients have been told by an orthodontist that their teeth are not suitable for invisible orthodontic treatment, but experienced orthodontists are capable of treating over 60% of orthodontic cases in Australia with Invisalign. Additionally, in many cases, Invisalign is actually a preferable treatment option, both cosmetically and clinically.
Collaboration
The Invisible Orthodontist group is a group of specialist orthodontists who are attempting to change the perception that Invisalign only treats simple cases by using their combined experience to learn from each other. As a group, the members participate in a clinical case study series aimed at increasing the range of cases each member can treat.
