What is Invisalign treatment?
Invisalign treatment uses virtually invisible, clear plastic aligners to move your teeth into position. These aligners look like thin sports mouthguards and are placed over your top and bottom teeth. You can remove them to eat, brush and floss so they don’t interfere with your lifestyle.
Straighten teeth invisibly with Invisalign aligners
Wondering how Invisalign aligners can straighten your teeth? At the start of your treatment at Northside Orthodontics, we use the iTero Element Scanner to take accurate impressions of your teeth. Using these digital impressions, we create custom-made Invisalign aligners that fit over your teeth. Every one-two weeks you need to replace the set of Invisalign aligners you are wearing with a new set. Each set is shaped slightly differently to guide your teeth into position. Over time, the aligners encourage your teeth to gradually move into a straighter position.
Bite well with Invisalign aligners
Invisalign aligners provide teens needing correction to their jaws the option of invisible treatment. Invisalign treatment for teens with the mandibular advancement feature uses an advanced version of Invisalign's clear plastic aligners to not only straighten teeth but to align a teens jaws. Having correctly aligned jaws is important for successful straightening of teeth, as well as good oral and digestive health. Our specialist orthodontists will look at the alignment of your teens jaw at their initial consultation to determine if treatment for jaw alignment is necessary, prior to, or in conjunction with, Invisalign teeth straightening treatment.
Types of Invisalign Treatment
Invisalign treatment options are available at different levels, which makes it a great method for a range of our patients. At Northside Orthodontics, we offer the following types of Invisalign treatment:
Invisalign Comprehensive We use Invisalign Comprehensive for major orthodontic cases. Treatment time takes between 18 and 24 months.
Invisalign First- this type of Invisalign treatment has been designed for children who need orthodontic work in the early stages. The aligners look exactly like the full Invisalign aligners, they allow for the loss and eruption of teeth as they grow and develop. For ultimate results, they must be worn for 20-22 hours per day.
Invisalign Lite to Moderate– not every patient needs major orthodontic work but that doesn’t mean those patients who only need minor corrections can’t have Invisalign treatment. Invisalign Lite to Moderate has been designed to correct mild misalignment of the front six teeth and can get results in as little as six months.
Invisalign Express – if your orthodontic problem really is minor then you could get it fixed within three months using Invisalign Express. This is a popular treatment option for brides-to-be who want to ensure their teeth look fabulous on their big day. It’s used for correction of the front six teeth only.
Benefits of Invisalign Treatment
At Northside Orthodontics, we have embraced the use of Invisalign aligners for the many benefits we believe it brings to our patients:
- Discreet: The aligners are made from clear, medical-grade, plastic which not only makes them safe to wear but virtually invisible. People won’t even notice you’re having treatment.
- Removable: Being able to remove your aligners means eating is easy as is brushing and flossing. You’ve got no excuses not to be able to keep up your oral hygiene routine! After all, healthy teeth are beautiful teeth.
- Convenient: Invisalign aligners can straighten your teeth faster than traditional metal braces and because they’re virtually invisible, as well as removable, you’ll hardly notice you’re having treatment.
- Effective: the results we have been able to achieve using Invisalign aligners are as good as, if not better, then with traditional methods. And we’ve treated people of all ages with Invisalign aligners.
